Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is the newest chapter in the Metal Gear saga. The events in this game take place after Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops but before Metal Gear.
The year is 1974. A mysterious military force has been discovered in the jungles of Costa Rica. Although this country occupies a key strategic location between North and South America, it has no army. It turns to Big Boss (aka Naked Snake) and his mercenary company Militaires Sans Frontières (Soldiers without Borders) to identify and expel the mysterious army. A simple mission quickly turns complex when Cold War deceptions unravel. The CIA and the KGB are both using Costa Rica as a pawn in their war of subterfuge.
Once again, Snake must use his stealth, strength, and intelligence to discover the truth behind the lies and prevent a nuclear war.
